Eco Farm is a project of Mission Himalaya to help provide a self-sustaining Eco farm home, for orphans and abandoned children, where, the kids can learn and flourish into individuals, who will learn to give back to the society.

The Eco home also has its own organic farm, which is situated right behind the residential building, where the staffs, and care-takers at the home, regularly plant, fresh, seasonal vegetables and fruits.

This is situated approximately 35 kms east of Kathmandu City and 3 kilometers further east beyond the beautiful ancient medieval town of Panauti, in Sankkhu-Sharada Village in Kavre District which is an hour and half drive east of Kathmandu city.

Thanks to a sponsor that wishes to stay anonymous, we have the funding to build a community clinic close to the Eco Farm Valley, but we do need the help of volunteers to help with construction work. The clinic will offer immediate relief for minor medical emergencies and walk in patients, for all villagers.

We were connected to the Eco-Farm and Orphanage by a close friend of our founder, and we have been asked to help.

Whilst the heavy duty construction work will be taken up by professionals, volunteers will be needed to assist with the brick wall construction, plastering, roof top construction, windows-door position layout, finishing touches to the clinic. The Eco Farm also have a farm where produce is grown to both feed the children and sell at local markets, and its very likely this too will need to be fixed and vegetables replanted. There will be many other jobs required without doubt, so anyone signing up for this trip need to be prepared to work hard.

Accommodation...well, I'm sure none of you would be expecting luxury hotel accommodation. For those who are comfortable camping, there will be tents in the gardens. Women on the trip have access to sleep indoors in a room above the girls section of the orphanage.

All the materials for this project have been sponsored by a close friend of Volunteer in UAE who wishes to remain anonymous. All you need to do is buy your ticket (details to come)
